In case you were like me and wondered why there was so much visible plaque on LeBron’s teeth recently, it’s actually just his title-inspired mouthguard. If you’re hazy on your Roman Numerals, XVI stands for 16; the number of games needed to win an NBA title (not 12, like the Heat won last year).
By way of ProBasketballTalk comes LeBron’s explanation of the mouthguard to Fox Sports Florida’s Chris Tomasson:
“‘You pay attention,’ James said to a reporter. ‘It’s just inspirational. I know this is the biggest part of the season, the second part of the season, so it’s just an inspiration for me.’”
Well then. It’s not exactly “Fo Fo Fo,” but it’ll do in terms of upping ante on the Heat’s title or bust pressure.
